Privacy Policy

1. Who this policy applies to

This Privacy Policy applies to the Kitsu Tracker app ("the App"). The App is an independent client for accessing and managing anime library information associated with a user's Kitsu account.

2. Data the App accesses and processes

The App may access and process the following categories of data:

• Kitsu account login credentials entered by the user at sign-in.
• OAuth access tokens and refresh tokens returned by Kitsu after authentication.
• Kitsu account identifiers such as user ID and username/slug.
• Anime library data associated with the user's Kitsu account, including titles, watch status, episode progress, and ratings.
• Basic network request data necessary to communicate with the Kitsu API.

3. How the App uses data

The App uses this data only to provide its core functionality:

• Authenticating the user with Kitsu.
• Displaying the user's anime library.
• Searching the Kitsu anime database.
• Updating watch status, progress, ratings, and library entries on the user's behalf.
• Keeping the user signed in between sessions using securely stored authentication tokens.

4. Data sharing

The App sends necessary account and library data to Kitsu in order to authenticate the user and synchronize anime library changes. The App does not sell user data and does not share data with advertising networks, analytics providers, or unrelated third parties.

5. Local data storage and security

Authentication tokens are stored locally on the device using Android secure storage mechanisms where available. The App is designed not to store the user's password after sign-in. Passwords are used only for the authentication request to Kitsu.

6. Data retention

Authentication tokens and related local session data are retained on the device until the user signs out, clears app data, or uninstalls the App. Library and search data displayed in the App is obtained from Kitsu and is not maintained as a separate long-term database by the App developer.

7. Deletion of data

Users can remove locally stored session data by signing out of the App or uninstalling it. Anime library entries are managed through the user's Kitsu account and can be updated or removed from within the App. Deletion of the Kitsu account itself must be handled through Kitsu, not through this App.

8. Children's privacy

The App is not specifically directed to children. It does not knowingly collect personal data from children outside of the information required to connect to a Kitsu account provided by the user.

9. Third-party services

The App depends on the Kitsu service and API to authenticate users and manage anime library content. Use of Kitsu is also subject to Kitsu's own terms and privacy practices.

10. Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in the App or legal requirements. The latest version should always be made available at the public URL provided in the Google Play listing.
